The Invincible Woman
Have you ever wondered into a place and thought, this is exactly where I shouldn't be. I did that today, I walked right into a class filled with women complaining about men and religion. Now I am no male chauvinist but I do not like to be compared to racists bigots all the time. I will be completely honest, I got a bit defensive and maybe said somethings that were a tad uncalled for, but that doesn't change the fact that women are being allowed to bash men and it is "socially acceptable." I believe that if men cannot bash women, (which they shouldn't) then women should not be bashing men simply for the reason that they think they can get away with it. This case of the "invincible woman" is not new to our society. It all starts in childhood when boys are told never to hit a girl (Which I AGREE with) and the girls find this out. Girls start hitting, slapping, kneeing, and kicking boys knowing that they will do nothing back to them, thus they think they are invincible. This has translated into the social arena where it is socially OK to slander men at the expense of men in general, and to argue is to show that you are a sexist. Unbelievable, I wish I would have just turned around. I am not a sexist and think woman stand on equal footing with men intellectually and not physically. But by not being as physically able doesn't diminish the woman at all. But to get to where we think of ourselves as equals does not have to be with the steps of slander against the opposing forces. Sorry, I ranted a bit on this one. Although, I think most of these blogs will be as such.

Man vs. Gossip Girl
I have recently been introduced to the famous tv show "Gossip Girl" aka GG. I have to admit, I was wary at first, but after a few episodes I began to get that itch that is so common at the beginning of a new series addiction. By the end of season 1 I was a full on addict and I needed help. I knew, like all the times before, that when I ended this show I was going to go through a massive case of withdraws from watching so many episodes so quickly. Normally I would talk about this show to other people to let off some of the steam but since it is GG and I am a man, I am somewhat shy of showing my true secrets. This is what I wanted to share in today's blog. Why should men be ashamed of liking shows like GG, The Vampire Diaries, One Tree Hill, Dawsons Creek, and I could go on. But being a man and liking these shows is almost contradicting characteristics. I choose to believe you can be a "manly" man and still appreciate a good love story. I think liking some Jane Austen or Nicholas Sparks is perfectly fine, but then so should liking a good old fashioned melodramatic tv show about angst teenagers and their love lives. Maybe I am the exception, besides, my favorite movie is Casablanca.
